Punjab Kings scripted history to beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs while defending a 112-run target. In the first inning, Punjab collapsed to just 111 runs but the bowlers bounced back in the second inning. Yuzvendra Chahal’s four-wicket-haul wiped off KKR’s middle order and the Knight Riders fell short of 16 runs in the low-scoring thriller.
Here’s how PBKS vs KKR panned out in Chandigarh:
Harshit Rana Plays Spoilsport In Shreyas Iyer’s Revenge Quest

Arya, who was looking dangerous after a brisk 22, found Ramandeep Singh lurking at fine leg. The fielder judged the trajectory perfectly to latch a stunning catch. A delivery later, Harshit offered width to PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer outside the off-stump line. However, Ramandeep again pulled off a full-stretch dive at deep backward point to pick a sensational catch and sent Iyer back on a 2-ball duck.
PBKS Post 111 After Middle-Order Collapse

Harshit Rana performed exceptionally well for Kolkata, picking up 3 wickets in 3 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine also contributed with 2 wickets each as KKR had an upper hand over Punjab after the first innings.
Punjab Had A Good Start With 2 Quick Wickets

Next, Quinton de Kock tried to flick a full delivery from Xavier Bartlett over a deep square leg, a shot he usually nails. But this time, Suryansh Shedge was right on the money with a composed catch near the boundary. With that wicket, KKR were 2 down with just 7 runs on the board.
Yuzi Chahal Stuns KKR As PBKS Steal Jaw-Dropping Win
While Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37) and Ajinkya Rahane (17) stitched a 55-run partnership, Yuzvendra Chahal unleashed havoc with a sensational four-wicket-haul. He sent both set batters Angkrish and Rahane back before picking up 2 consecutive wickets of Rinku Singh and Ramandeep in the 12th over, leaving KKR reeling at 77/7.

Though Andre Russell kept hopes alive by taking on Chahal for 16 runs in the 14th over, Arshdeep and Jansen got the last 2 wickets to seal an unexpected win for PBKS. Punjab won the game by 16 runs and defended the lowest total in the history of IPL.
