PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer couldn’t get his revenge on his former team KKR as he was dismissed on a duck by Harshit Rana during IPL 2025. Fans trolled Iyer on social media for failing miserably, especially after creating controversy over his retention.

Iyer, who won the IPL title for KKR in 2024, was released from the squad ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Apparently, the batter demanded INR 30 crore for retention but Kolkata refused, resulting in a fall out.

In a mega auction, he was picked up by PBKS for INR 26.75 crore and named captain as well. However, Iyer failed to redeem himself against his former team during a recent clash between KKR and PBKS.

Shreyas Iyer Falls For Duck Vs KKR, Gets Trolled

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer was pitted against his former team KKR in the 31st match of the IPL 2025 season. However, instead of getting his revenge, he had to face an embarrassing dismissal.

In the fourth over of the first inning, Harshit Rana removed Priyansh Arya to get first blood. Two balls later, he trapped Iyer by offering him width outside off.

The batter sliced it off, aiming for a boundary, but only managed to hit the thick outside half of the bat. The ball flew flat and fast towards deep backward point, where Ramandeep, originally stationed at square third man, reacted brilliantly. 

Realising the ball was dipping sharply, Ramandeep launched into a full-length, head-first dive and pulled off a stunning catch just inches above the ground and sent Iyer packing for a 2-ball duck.

Meanwhile, the embarrassing dismissal got Shreyas Iyer massively trolled on social media as fans taunted him for failing against his former team, KKR.

That being said, PBKS were jolted by quick wickets as they were reduced to 54/4 at the end of the powerplay.
