Noman Ali and Sajid Khan claimed all 20 English wickets on offer at the Multan Cricket Stadium as Pakistan romped to a sensational 152-run win to bring the three-match Test series to levelling terms on Day 4.

Here’s the timeline of how PAK vs ENG panned out in Multan:

PAK vs ENG Highlights: Sajid Khan Delivers The Opening Breakthrough Of The Day

With England resuming their 297-run pursuit on Day 4 at 36-2, Pakistan’s rampaging spinner Sajid Khan dismissed overnight batter Ollie Pope with a sharp caught-and-bowled in just the second over of the morning session.

Pope’s departure at 22 from 37 balls prompted an early arrival of England’s number five batter and last-week’s triple centurion Harry Brook at the crease.

Withholding their usual ‘BazBall’ approach, blistering middle-order batters Joe Root and Harry Brook carefully steered England past the 50-run mark in the 15th over of the innings. Just as the two visitors were finding their feet at the crease, Sajid Khan’s partner-in-crime Noman Ali had both Root (18 off 34) and Brook (16 off 21) trapped in front in the space of three overs as England slipped to 78-5 in the run-chase.

England wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith became Noman Ali’s next victim of the innings, just a couple of overs after Harry Brook’s departure. Captain Ben Stokes and all-round apparent Brydon Carse briefly led England’s counterattacking response with a swift 37-run partnership for the seventh wicket in six overs.

With England finding some stability at 125-6, Noman Ali, in extensive spell, got rid of both Stokes and Carse as Pakistan sniffed a potential Test victory before lunch. Ali also claimed the formality wickets of number 10 Jack Leach and number 11 Shoaib Bashir in successive deliveries, with Abdullah Shafique claiming identical catches on both occasions as Pakistan wrapped up the English chase for just 144 in 33.3 overs.

Claiming a huge 152-run series-levelling victory, the outcome also marked Pakistan’s first Test win in more than a year, and ended their unwanted losing streak under Shan Masood’s leadership.
