Hosts Pakistan roared back into series contention after Sajid Khan triggered late English collapse to spin on Day 2 of the second Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Here’s the timeline of how PAK vs ENG panned out in Multan:

PAK vs ENG Highlights: Jamal, Noman Ali Add Handy Runs At The Tail

Resuming the innings at 259-5, overnight Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan added just four more runs in the morning before he nicked one towards Jamie Smith off Brydon Carse. After taking Pakistan past the 300-run mark, Agha Salman also made his way back to the pavilion courtesy of some extra bounce from Matthew Potts.

Aamer Jamal at number eight added handy runs with fellow tail-ender Noman Ali as Pakistan cracked the 350-run mark at the brink of lunch break. Both cricketers unfurled valuable 30s each as the hosts recorded 366 runs in their first innings.

For England, spinner Jack Leach bagged four wickets at an expense of 114 in 38.3 overs, while pacemen Matthew Potts (2-66) and Brydon Carse (3-50) collectively claimed five wickets.

PAK vs ENG Highlights: Ben Duckett Tons Up PAK As England Blazes To Team 200

The Englishmen once again upheld their standard ‘BazBall’ expectations by pumping out 88 runs from just 17 overs before Tea break. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett shared 73 of those runs together at run-a-ball, with Noman Ali bagging the first wicket for Pakistan in the form of the lanky right-hander at 27. Duckett, on the other hand, marched on with Ollie Pope (29 off 37) and Joe Root (34 off 54) to bring up his fourth Test hundred.

Reaching the milestone figure from just 120 balls, Duckett and in-form Root extended the English juggernaut past the 200-run mark until the final hour of play.

PAK vs ENG Highlights: Sajid Khan Frolic Through ENG With Twilight Wickets

With England breathing easy at 211-2 in 41 overs, Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan scythed through the visitor’s middle-order with a three-wicket burst. Noman Ali, who dismissed Zak Crawley in the opening hour of the innings, also accounted for the wicket of English skipper Ben Stokes late in the day.

Sajid Khan, meanwhile, knocked over last week’s milestone men Joe Root and Harry Brook, as well as curtailed Ben Duckett’s expressive stay at 114, all in the space of just two overs. Khan finished the day with figures of 4-86 as England reached 239-6 from 53 overs by stumps.
