Ravichandran Ashwin has heaped a significant praise on ‘consistent’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise in IPL. The Indian all-rounder believes RCB has the most ‘loyal fanbase’ among all franchises and their fans absolutely love Virat Kohli.

R Ashwin addresses social media trolling of RCB

Taking to his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin spoke in length about various mega auction prospects of the IPL 2025 season. At one point of the video, the legendary Indian all-rounder also highlighted the “loyal fanbase” of the RCB franchise.

Ashwin believes RCB has been one of the most consistent teams in IPL in the past 10 years, and their fans absolutely love franchise zealot and modern-day batting legend Virat Kohli. The all-rounder also addressed the excessive social media trolling RCB fans have to endure on a regular basis. He said:

“RCB fans love Virat Kohli. So many get depressed seeing the trolling going on social media, but RCB is a god gifted franchise with the most loyal fanbase. Their fans always stood by them, RCB is one of the most consistent teams in last 10 years.”

Ravichandran Ashwin also signified the batting milestones of legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli. Amidst constant comparisons with struggling Pakistan star Babar Azam, Ashwin claimed that Kohli’s credentials are just “something else”, and the two cricketers should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Ravichandran Ashwin recently touched down at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, also RCB’s home base, for India’s series-opening first Test match against New Zealand.

The 38-year-old played a crucial role in India’s emphatic 2-0 triumph over Bangladesh earlier this month. The cricketer scored a majestic 113 in the first Test, and backed up his batting recital with a match-winning six-wicket haul.

As Ravichandran Ashwin braces himself for India’s five-match Test tour of Australia, the all-rounder will be aiming to sustain his prolific touch with bat and ball.
