Nitish Kumar Reddy has certainly announced his arrival in style at the international level. After being not-out in the run-chase in the first T20I, Nitish Kumar showed his class in a tricky game against Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

At first, the Delhi surface looked like a batting paradise, but soon the surface got harder as India found it hard and lost three wickets in quick successions.

India lost early wickets as Nitish does rescue act

Sanju Samson, was the first casualty as he departed for a low score. He was soon followed by Abhishek Sharma, who had yet another poor game and was dismissed for 15 off 11 balls. However, the biggest jolt came in when Bangladesh tighten the grip and got the big fish, Suryakumar Yadav.

With three down, India needed a hero to salvage their innings and Nitish Kumar came in at the right time for the Indian side. Despite the scoreboard showing three wickets, the SRH batter didn't shy away from playing his strokes and sixes started to rain as the right-handed batter dealt in sixes at will.

He was at his imperial best and in the blink of an eye, he reached his fifty in just 27 balls. However, the best was yet to come as he upped the ante and increased the strike-rate as the Tigers looked helpless against a rampant batter.

Nitish misses out on a dream hundred

Just when it looked as if Nitish Reddy will cross the 100-run mark in just his second game, Mustafizur Rahman showed his magic trick and dismissed the SRH batter for a well-compiled 74 off 34 balls, with a strike-rate of 217.65.

This would have been a brilliant hundred had Nitish got there, but the youngster played a blinder, considering the situation India were in in the beginning. With this knock, Nitish will certainly be one of the favourites to seal a place in the India squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
