Bizarre scenes occurred during Australia's Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia, where Australia's star bowler Nathan Lyon was captured searching for a lost ball in the bushes.

One of the batters whacked the ball so hard that it cleared the fence. The 36-year-old failed to find the ball and eventually found another lost ball. In the video, Lyon can be seen picking up a white ball. He was later joined by other players and they successfully managed to find the right ball.

Cricket Australia took to Instagram to share the videos and wrote, " Swipe across to see the 🐐 having more luck on the field than he did in the bushes."

Nathan Lyon Prepares For Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024

Lyon is preparing well for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as he picked up a fifer for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield so far in the 2024/25 season. Alex Carey, Daniel Drew, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew and Jordan Buckingham were his scalps in the first innings. He also managed to get a solitary wicket in the second innings.

Lyon, who is the leading wicket-taker in WTC history, recently opened up on the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy and predicted that Australia would hammer India 5-0.

"It’s been 10 years since we have won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. I started thinking about this series when England were over in India, watching them to go about it. I love the game and I will watch a decent Test match but I have eyes on this series for a long time now. My prediction is 5-0 to Australia,” Lyon told Alyssa Healy on the 'Willow Talk' podcast.

Talking about the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Lyon also added that Rishabh Pant would have a great impact in the upcoming series.
