On Wednesday, October 9, India beat Bangladesh by 86 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to seal the series 2-0. It was a comfortable win for the hosts as SRH's Nitish Reddy won the player of the match award for his heroics with the bat and ball.

India, batting first, put 221 runs on the board courtesy of a blistering fifty from Nitish Reddy. The SRH star all-rounder, who played his 2nd match for the Men in Blue, slammed his maiden half-century and scored 74 (34), which featured seven sixes and four fours.

Nitish Reddy Credits Indian Management Behind His Knock

Nitish took the world by storm with a strong performance and has won fans' hearts, who are rooting for the star all-rounder to make it to the team for T20 World Cup 2026. In the latest events, Reddy spoke about his innings and credited the management behind his knock.

“Feels great to represent India, feel so proud about this moment. Grateful for everything. I should give credit to the captain and coach. They gave me the license to play fearless cricket. I took my time initially, but after that no-ball, everything went in my favour. It feels great to play for the Indian team. I want to continue in this same way. Want to keep repeating such good performances,” said Reddy in the post-match presentation.

Nitish Reddy Shines In His Debut Series

Reddy also shone with the ball as the all-rounder took two wickets that helped him win his first player of the match award. In the first T20I against Bangladesh, Reddy couldn't unleash his lethal side and remained unbeaten on 16 (15), which featured a solitary six. After his debut, Reddy can no longer be retained as an uncapped player in IPL and would go for minimum 11 crores if SRH decides to retain him.
