In a surprising move ahead of the second Test between Pakistan and England in Multan on October 15, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that ace pacer Shaheen Afridi, star batter Babar Azam, and right-arm quick Naseem Shah will be rested for the remainder of the series. The decision has sparked widespread debate among fans and cricket experts both in Pakistan and globally.

The announcement has brought mixed reactions from the cricketing fraternity. Some supporters of the decision believe that the players, especially Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam, who have been on an intensive schedule over the past year, need time off to recover mentally and physically. However, others have criticised the board's call and suggested that it could impact the players’ self-confidence and momentum.

Why Is Second Test Important For Pakistan?

So this match is and the series is important for Pakistan to improve their position in the WTC standings. According to reports, the second Test set to take place on the same pitch at the Multan Cricket Stadium. England, already up by one in the series, is expected to put up a fierce fight, especially with the momentum on their side.

Pakistan’s strategy going into the match will be closely watched, as they rely on young blood to counter England’s seasoned players.
