The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a staggering claim about the streaming viewership numbers of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season. After the opening week of action, the PSL took to its social media accounts and stated that the 2025 season has received a streaming viewership jump of 826.5 percent in comparison to the previous year.
Moreover, it is worth noting that the PSL 2025 season is also coinciding with the high-profile IPL 2025 season in India.
PCB makes big PSL 2025 claim
On Sunday, April 20, the official social media accounts of PSL claimed that the PSL 2025 has “smashed” all streaming viewership records, making a staggering jump of 826.5 percent in comparison to the previous season.
Fans were quick to acknowledge the fact that PSL 2025 attained the same, despite being in direct competition with BCCI’s high-value IPL 2025 season in India.
The PSL 2025 season commenced on April 11 with a match between Lahore Qalandars and defending champions Islamabad United at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. While the season has so far hosted nine matches across two different venues, every single match has turned out to be a one-sided affair.
The PSL 2025 will continue on Sunday, April 20, with table-toppers Islamabad United facing David Warner-led Karachi Kings at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The IPL 2025 season, meanwhile, is going great guns in India with electrifying thrillers and packed crowds. Around the halfway stage of the competition at the moment, the tournament will continue with a double-header on April 20, with matches scheduled to be played in Mullanpur and Mumbai.
