The New Zealand cricket team is set to make another trip to Sri Lanka, this time for a series of five white-ball fixtures in November. Back in September, a Tim Southee-led New Zealand group toured Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series, losing the same by a 0-2 margin.

On Monday, October 14, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board confirmed that New Zealand will once again travel to Sri Lanka, albeit for a series of white-ball fixtures in November. As per the official media release, both New Zealand and Sri Lanka teams are scheduled to face each other for two T20Is and three ODI matches between November 9 and November 19.

New Zealand's Abysmal Performance In Sri Lanka Tests

Back in September, a Tim Southee-led New Zealand team coped successive demoralizing defeats to Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium. The series, also constituting a part of the 2023-25 WTC cycle, went in Sri Lanka’s favor by a 2-0 margin.

The hosts won the first Test by 68 runs after having conceded a 35-run lead at the halfway stage of the match. Dhananjaya de Silva and co. stepped up their game even further in the series decider by crashing the visitors with an innings and 154 runs.

Rising star Kamindu Mendis bagged the ‘Player of the Series’ award for scoring 309 runs in three innings at an astonishing batting average of 154.50. For his batting exploits against New Zealand, Mendis also won the ICC Player of the Month award for September.
