In the significant development, Shaji Ul Mulk, the founder and chairman of T10 Global Sports, has fueled speculation about the possibility of MS Dhoni transitioning to the T10 format amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding the former Indian captain's future in the IPL 2025. 

Dhoni, has remained tight-lipped about his plans in the IPL, especially after CSK’s early exit from the 2024 edition. His age, ongoing knee injury, and silence about retirement have left fans and cricket analysts wondering what’s next for the iconic cricketer.

Shaji Ul Mulk Wants MS Dhoni To Play In  Abu Dhabi T10

While current Indian internationals are bound by BCCI regulations to play exclusively in the IPL, many former stars like Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan have turned to T10 leagues, further igniting speculation about Dhoni’s potential involvement. Commenting on the situation, Shaji Ul Mulk expressed optimism about Dhoni’s potential move to the T10 format. 

“Absolutely, I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind.”Shaji noted. 

MS Dhoni’s potential participation in the T10 league has captured attention of fans, who are eager to see their hero continue playing, even if in a shorter format. The T10 format, which is growing rapidly in popularity, would allow Dhoni to display his finishing skills in a high-octane environment while also accommodating his physical limitations. 

What Is Abu Dhabi T10? 

The upcoming 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 season is set to be the biggest yet, featuring 179 international stars from 11 nations, making it a truly global spectacle. With the addition of two new franchises, Bolts Ajman and UP Nawabs, the total number of teams has grown to ten. 

The tournament boasts a diverse mix of cricketing talent, including 20 players from the West Indies, 17 from the UAE, 15 from Sri Lanka, and 14 from Pakistan. Players from Afghanistan, England, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are also set to participate, underscoring the growing international appeal of the T10 format.
