James Vince lauds execution of Nathan Ellis in crunch moments of T20 Blast Finals

Hampshire captain James Vince has lavished praise on the fast bowler Nathan Ellis for his thoughtful execution to help the team in lifting the T20 Blast 2022 title.

In the Final game, Lancashire needed 11 off six balls, but Ellis kept his cool and darted excellent yorkers and slower balls to guide the team to win a thriller by one run.

Twist in the Tale

With five needed off a single ball, Ellis took the wicket of Richard Gleeson, but it was deemed as a no-ball, which put an end to the premature celebration of Hampshire.

However, the 27-year-old managed to beat Gleeson again with a back-of-hand slower delivery, which impressed the captain, James Vince.

"The way Nathan regrouped and the confidence to go to the slower ball in that situation, he's executed so well at the death," said Vince. "All the other guys were there sort of spectating on the off-chance the ball would come to them, but to regroup and have the ball in hand was outstanding."

Vince thinks Ellis will be a regular member of Australia

The 31-year-old admitted to having strong know-how of Ellis's abilities, as both the players had faced off against each other in the Big Bash League.

"I know how good he is," he said. "Also, I know he's played a bit for Australia and I'm sure he'll play a lot more.

Earlier this year, Ellis scalped four wickets in a one-off T20I game against Pakistan and helped Australia to secure a victory.
