SL vs PAK | Babar Azam overtakes Inzamam-ul-Haq's prestigious milestone

Babar Azam has been scoring runs for fun. His abilities were once again on full display as the batter scored 119 runs off 244 deliveries in the first Test match against Sri Lanka.

The Pakistani skipper has been on the top of his game for the last two years, emerging as one of the best players across the globe.

While wickets collapsed from one end, Babar held his own to ensure that Pakistan could put up a respectable total of 218 runs on the board at the end of the first innings.

Babar Azam overtakes Inzamam-ul-Haq and his other predecessors

Ever since taking over the reins as the skipper for Pakistan, Babar has carried his team on various occasions.

His century against Sri Lanka marked his 9th century for the national side while leading the country. Before Babar, the record belonged to Pakistan’s legendary skipper, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who also had nine centuries to his name, albeit in 131 innings.

Babar took just 70 innings to breach the record; from the looks of it, the skipper is here to establish new records. The batter will again be in action in the second innings of the Test match at Galle, as Pakistan hopes to subdue Sri Lanka under a low total.
