Sharjah and Dubai emerge as the likely destination for Asia Cup 2022

The news surrounding the Asia Cup 2022 has slowly started to pick up steam

Earlier in the day, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board secretary Mohan de Silva had informed the media about the Asia Cricket Council’s (ACC) decision to shift the tournament from Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the ongoing political turmoil.

While it seemed like Bangladesh could emerge as the most likely candidate to host the event. It looks like ACC have decided to go ahead with UAE for the list of games.

ACC yet to make a final statement on the decision

According to the latest reports that have emerged from the media, it is likely that Sharjah and Dubai will be the hosts of the tournament.

UAE has recently seen a lot of important cricket, with the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 being the latest example. However, nothing is set in stone with ACC yet to make an official statement.

The event will be headlined with the marquee event as India clashes against Pakistan in a rematch from their group stage clash in the above-mentioned T20 World Cup.
