IPL 2022 auction | Day 2 comes to an exciting end
So, after about 10 long hours, the second day of the Indian Premier League mega auction comes to an end. Teams have wrapped up two very quick sessions in the day and by and large are looking very good. Out of the 10 teams, it seemed like Rajasthan Royals were falling behind, but a late-late acceleration from them saw the Jaipur based side picking up James Neesham, Rassie Van der Dussen, Daryl Mitchell and Nathan Coulter-Nile to balance their squad.
On the day, Tim David and Jofra Archer went for big money, bagging 8.25 and 8 crore respectively.
Liam Livingstone was another name that made the auction room sit up becoming the most expensive foreign player in this auction at Rs 11.5 crore.
Devon Conway can be considered as the steal of the day with Chennai Super Kings picking him up at a base price of Rs 1 crore.
Several teams were looking for keepers as well as captains and teams found their faith in players like Shreyas Iyer, Faf du Plessis, Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Phillips. Another interesting bit of the auction was that Indian bowlers saw a big pay day.

1) David Miller- Miller who had earlier gone unsold now has the bidding for him between RR and Gujarat. The latter are pretty quick in making the counter offer and the bid in now INR 1.70 Cr.
RR are making a bid of INR 1.80 Cr but Gujarat place INR 1.90 Cr.
We touch the INR 2 Cr mark for the South African batter. Gujarat have made the bid for INR 3 Cr now. Who would have thought that we will have a bidding war for Miller at this moment? But as they say, it's a game of glorious uncertainties. The Royals are moving out and Miller is going to Gujarat at INR 3 Cr.

4) N Tilak Varma- SRH and RR begin the bidding. The Hyderabad franchise members are in some serious discussion while the Royals are not letting this one go. CSK make a late entry now at INR 60 lakh. MI are the fourth franchise to join the race with a bid of INR 65 lakh.
All of a sudden, we have a bidding war between the two most successful IPL teams, MI & CSK.

Prices move above 1.5 crore and only two teams are interested at the moment. The bidding war has taken prices up to 4.4 crore now, Mumbai and Delhi absolutely going for the left arm quick who can rake up some serious pace.
Delhi Capitals place the high bid of Rs 5.25 crore and buy Khaleel Ahmed after an intense bidding war.
3) Dushmanta Chameera - Price is set at 50 lakh for the Sri Lanka quick with a high arm action. Lucknow and Bangalore engage in a battle.
1.9 crore is where the price is now and it needs to be pointed out that both teams have a very small purse left. Lucknow have 6 crore and Bangalore have 9.25 crore.

4) Lungi Ngidi - 50 lakhs is the opening bid for the former CSK pacer. There is no bid at the moment and the SA star goes UNSOLD.
5) Chetan Sakariya - RCB are straight in. Punjab Kings put in a counter offer. Price at 60 lakh at the moment. Rajasthan Royals have put their hat into the mix and the price is currently at 1.10 crore.
Rajasthan are very close to buying back Sakariya at 1.8 crore but no, DC have stepped in at 1.9 crore.
Rajasthan keep countering, the prices are soaring in the auction room for this Indian star. Rs 4 crore now is where the bids stand. And Delhi make the winning bid, snatch Sakariya for Rs 4.2 crore.
6) Sandeep Sharma - Punjab Kings make a bid just about Sharma was going to get unsold and pick him at base price.
7) Navdeep Saini - Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai are interested. Lucknow do not seem to be interested above Rs 1 crore but Rajasthan Royals come in with a bid after losing Sakariya. Rs 1.4 crore is the price to beat now.
Mumbai and Rajasthan engage with one another and Rajasthan come on top at Rs 2.6 crore for the former RCB speedster.
8) Sheldon Cottrell - The big West Indian is up. 75 lakh is the base price. UNSOLD.
9) Jaydev Unadkat - Historically, it has shocked people that he has been sold for astronomical prices. And there is a bid from Mumbai Indians here, and Chennai are in on the deal as well.
Mumbai come on top at Rs 1.3 crore. Unadkat won't bag a big one this time.
