Indian cricketing sensation, Virat Kohli has payed his respects to business tycoon Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday night leaving an indelible mark on the world. Aged 86, he was admitted in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital due to some age-related health issues.

On Thursday, Kohli, took to his Instagram and shared a story to honor the legendary Indian businessman. He shared a photograph and wrote a heartfelt message for him,“Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace sir.”



A public figure and a national icon, Ratan Tata's demise is being mourned as a national loss. Often regarded for his kindness, humility and love for dogs, Tata maintained a low-profile despite leading India's biggest business house. 

Numerous cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan and many more have come forward and expressed their condolences. 

Unique Connection Between Virat Kohli And Ratan Tata

Despite being from different walks of life,  Virat Kohli and industrialist Ratan Tata share a profound bond over their love for animals. Kohli’s affection for dogs is widely recognized, with numerous photos and videos showcasing him playing and caring for pets. Both Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, share a larger commitment to animal welfare.

Ratan Tata, a renowned advocate for animal rights, also made significant contributions in this area. His initiatives include making entry for stray animals "free" at Mumbai's iconic Taj Mahal Hotel and transforming the Tata Group headquarters into a shelter for them. His latest and now final project included a state-of-the-art pet hospital for the furry friends.

Kohli Completes 27,000 International Runs

On the cricketing front, the right handed south-paw was last seen in action during the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh. Kohli continued with his stellar performance as he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs. While Sachin slammed this record of  27,000 runs in 623 innings, Kohli did so in 594 innings in international cricket.
