In a significant development, the BCB has officially announced the schedule for Zimbabwe’s upcoming Test tour of Bangladesh. This will mark the first Test series between the two sides since July 2021. Zimbabwe last played Test on Bangladesh soil in February 2020, where they were comprehensively beaten by an innings and 106 runs.

BAN vs ZIM Squad Changes

Talking about the squad, Bangladesh will be buoyed by the return of experienced Mushfiqur Rahim. However, opener Litton Das will miss the series, having opted to participate in the ongoing PSL. Spin responsibilities will rest heavily on the shoulders of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam, with top-order batter Nazmul Hossain Shanto named captain.

On the other side, Zimbabwe will welcome back veteran all-rounder Sean Williams, who has recovered from a back injury. Captain Craig Ervine also returns to lead the side after missing the Test against Ireland earlier this year due to personal reasons.

The red-ball series will kick off on April 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, followed by the second and final Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on April 28.
