In a high-octane clash, Australia will lock horns with South Africa in the first semifinal of the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup. The much-awaited face-off will take place at the historic Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

AU-W Vs SA-W: Team Previews

Australia Women

Despite missing their regular captain Alyssa Healy, Australia put up a commendable all-round effort to outclass India Women and enter the semis unbeaten. The defending champions were in a spot of bother, as India reduced them to 92 for four at one stage. However, valiant quick-fire cameos from Ellyse Perry and Phoebe Litchfield powered them to a respectable 151-run total.

On the bowling front, Sophie Molineux and Annabel Sutherland bagged two Indian scalps, while Megan Schutt bowled an exceptional spell. So, heading to this match, Australia Women seem much more settled and formidable than their counterparts.

Although doubts still loom over Healy's participation, Australia Women are blessed with impactful batters like Grace Harris, Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath, who can change the course of the game on their own.

Furthermore, all-rounders like Ashleigh Gardner, Georgia Wareham and Annabel Sutherland make them fearsome for every team. All in all, Australia Women are the clear favourites and it will be a miracle if South Africa Women halt their progress in the tournament.

South Africa Women

South Africa's journey in the Women's T20 World Cup has been nothing short of remarkable. Despite winning three out of their four group-stage matches, the Proteas had to rely on the result of West Indies' final encounter against England to qualify for the semis.

The Proteas openers Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt will be the biggest headache for Australia, as they have been South Africa's two most prolific batters in the tournament. The eyes will also be on South Africa's MVP Marizanne Kapp, who can rattle the Aussies with her bowling apart from scoring brisk runs down the order.

Considering she has bamboozled the batters with her guile and accuracy, Nonkululeko Mlaba will be South Africa's most potent bowling weapon on Dubai's spin-friendly surface. Barring these players, the all-round excellence of Nadine de Klerk and the fast-bowling expertise of Ayabonga Khaka will be pivotal for the Proteas Women in this do-or-die encounter.

AU-W Vs SA-W: Dubai International Stadium Pitch Report

The playing conditions at Dubai International Cricket Stadium will be bowling-friendly, with batters toiling hard for runs. While the spinners will get significant assistance from the pitch, the pacers will get the oddball to hold up a bit. Something around 145 could be an excellent score at this venue. But, more importantly, the pitch doesn't really change its behaviour with time. So, the toss-winner will likely bowl first.

AU-W Vs SA-W: Probable Playing XIs
