Multan Cricket Stadium: Is it bowling or batting friendly?

This is the first match being played at this venue, this season and hence, expect a fresh pitch to be laid and truckloads of runs being scored. This has been a trend in Rawalpindi and Karachi as well. In the initial few matches, both Karachi and Rawalpindi Stadiums witnessed high-scoring encounters with the batters enjoying their outing.

However, as the matches came by, pitches were worn out and spinners came into action. Expect a similar pattern to be followed with high-scoring contests initially and then some low-scoring matches.

For the upcoming match, since it will be a freshly laid pitch, the seamers will have something for them in the initial going but once the dust settles in, the batters will get used to the bounce and can easily play their strokes. Since it is the first game of the season at Multan, the toss winning captain would ideally like to bowl first, assess the conditions and then chase down the target accordingly.
