It's time for the highly anticipated clash between India and New Zealand to take the centre stage as the three-match Test series of the New Zealand tour of India kicks off from October 16, Wednesday. The first Test will take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

A Confident India Meet New Zealand

The Indian side are riding high and bright after their recent home series victory against Bangladesh. They first thrashed Najmul Hossain Shanto led team in a two match Test series and then in the three T20I games.

Now, with the New Zealand series right just one sleep away, Rohit Sharma and co would hope to continue this momentum and secure a place the in WTC final. They would hope for another clean sweep at home and go to Australia without any pressure.

On the other hand, New Zealand enters their five-Test series against India after being exposed to major challenges following a whitewash from Sri Lanka. They have been historically weak on abroad matches and have failed to adjust to other conditions.

After losing against Sri Lanka, captain Tim Southee resigned his position, and Tom Latham took up the reins. Kane Williamson is questionable for India with a groin injury and could make debut alongside Mark Chapman. Another player who will not feature in the lineup is Ben Sears, a victim of a knee injury. They would hope to get a hold of themselves with such a crucial Test right in front of their eyes.
