The 2nd Test between Pakistan and England is underway at the Multan Stadium. Shan Masood won the toss, and Pakistan opted to bat first. The decision backfired early on as the hosts lost two early wickets.

It is worth noting that Pakistan has opted for the same pitch that was prepared for the first Test, which turned out to be a run-fest. In the first Test, England beat Pakistan by an Innings and 47 runs after posting 800+ runs in their first innings. 

Joe Root's Funny Moment With Jack Leach

For the ongoing match, Pakistan opted for a spin-friendly track, and England's Jack Leach immediately came into play. Leach took two wickets in his first three overs to leave the hosts crippled. He further became the first England spinner to take wickets in the first ten overs of a Test match since 1889. 

Talking about Leach, he also hogged the headlines after Joe Root was captured shining the ball on his head. It is worth noting that using saliva to shine the ball has been banned in cricket since COVID-19. Thus, the players are using creative methods to maintain the shine and not let the polish go off. 


Joe Root Did The Same During 2022 Tour To Pakistan

It is not the first time that Root shined the ball on Leach's head as he made a similar gesture during England's 2022 tour to Pakistan. The incident occurred in the 73rd over of the first Test, where Root hogged the headlines for his actions. 

At the time of writing this article, Pakistan are going strong as they have posted 104/2 on the board. Babar Azam's replacement Kamran Ghulam and Saim Ayub, both have scored fifty-plus scores.
