After registering a phenomenal two-nil whitewash over Bangladesh, India are getting ready to face a spirited New Zealand side in a three-match Test series. Led by Rohit Sharma, India have announced a formidable squad for the series, keeping their core intact in a bid to sustain their dream run on home soil.

Meanwhile, in a significant development, the first sight of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium's pitch has emerged two days prior to the first Test in Bengaluru. While they toiled hard in an intense net session, the Indian players had a close look at the pitch for the series opener against the BlackCaps.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium's Pitch Likely To Offer A Cracking Contest

The pitches in India generally assist spin bowlers from the very first day. However, one can clearly observe a tinge of green on M Chinnaswamy Stadium's pitch for the first India vs New Zealand Test, indicating it will bring the fast bowlers into the game.

As the game is all set to begin on Wednesday, October 16, it's unlikely that the grass will be trimmed further before the game. So, expect the fast bowlers to make the new ball talk, at least in the first couple of sessions on day 1.

However, as the match progresses, the wicket will lose moisture and favour the batters. With the track drying up, the spinners will get significant turn from the third day onwards.

Will India Consider Playing 3 Pacers In Bengaluru?

Given that it won't be a rank-turner in Bengaluru, India will likely persist with three pacers, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will once again be key to India's success, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav might continue to warm the bench.
