It's time for the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 final, and we have the finalist of the last edition, South Africa, taking on New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Both are quality teams and have lost just one game so far. They have not won a single T20 World Cup so far and will be eyeing to break the jinx and create history on October 20th.

Both teams have a good mixture of experience and youth in their squads, but some contests between key players could decide the fate of this game. So, here are the four player battles to watch out for in this T20 World Cup final.

Laura Wolvaardt vs Amelia Kerr

Laura Wolvaardt is the leading run-scorer of this Women's T20 World Cup 2024 while Amelia Kerr is the leading wicket-taker. Both are very crucial players for their side and the battle between the two over the years have been quite intriguing. Amelia Kerr has  done well against Wolvaardt so far as the South African skipper has struggled to get going against the leg-spinner. She has faced 29 balls from Kerr and has scored just 17 runs. Amelia has also got her wicket once and if she gets the South African captain early in the final, it can put pressure on the Proteas women.

Sophie Devine vs Marizanne Kapp

Sophie is a powerful hitter of the cricket ball and if she gets going, it is very hard to stop her. Marizanne Kapp, on the other hand, is a key player for South Africa and has the knack of delivering under pressure. Kapp has bowled 37 balls to Sophie Devine so far, and the New Zealand star has scored 44 runs but has also lost her wicket twice to the pacer. Amelia Kerr vs Nonkululeko Mlaba

Amelia Kerr will bat at number 3, and will be crucial for New Zealand in the middle overs. Mlaba, on the other hand, is the leading wicket-taker for South Africa in this tournament, and she would be looking to get rid of Kerr early. So far, Mlaba has not got Amelia Kerr's wicket in T20Is, but she has not leaked runs as well, and the New Zealand all-rounder has scored just 21 runs off 25 balls against the spinner.

Marizanne Kapp vs Lea Tahuhu

Marizanne Kapp has not been needed much as a batter in this World Cup so far, but she is a key batter, and South Africa might need her services in the final. She is an experienced cricketer, and her battle against Lea Tahuhu, the White Ferns' pacer, can be interesting as she will bowl at the death. In 11 balls against Tahuhu in T20Is,  Kapp has scored 19 runs. So, the battle has been quite even between the two so far, and it would be fascinating to see how things pan out in the grand finale.
