Former India cricketer Amit Mishra found himself among news headlines after a media report accused him of domestic abuse and dowry harassment. Several media publications revealed that Mishra's wife has demanded 1 crore in compensation as she accused Mishra's family of demanding ₹10 lakh and a car from Mishra's wife at their wedding.

Amit Mishra Refutes Harrassment Claims

In the latest events, Mishra refuted such claims and also threatened of legal actions against media houses for spreading fake narratives against him. Notably, the former Delhi Capitals star also revealed that he is unmarried and the media outlets are using his images for a different person named Mishra, who might be accused of taking dowry from his wife. 

''I’m extremely disappointed by what’s being circulated in the media. I’ve always respected the press, but while the news itself may be accurate, the photograph used is mine—which is completely incorrect. Using my image for unrelated stories must stop immediately, or I will be forced to take legal action,'' said Mishra from his X account.

It is worth noting that Amit Mishra has enjoyed an illustrious career with the Indian team as he has played 68 matches and has 76 Test wickets, 64 ODI wickets, and 16 T20I wickets. Further, talking about his IPL career, Mishra has played 155 matches, claiming 166 wickets at an economy rate of 7.36.
