Fakhar Zaman is on a roll in PSL 2025. Despite hammering 67 against Quetta Gladiators and following it up with a blazing 76 off 47 balls vs Karachi Kings, the Lahore Qalandars opener reckons he is still not in full rhythm.

Fakhar Zaman Shocks Fans With Brutally Honest Take

Speaking at the post-match, Fakhar Zaman had fans and experts doing a double take when he said:

“In the last match, I said I didn’t play in full flow. If I repeat that today, it might sound ungrateful, but I still feel I haven’t reached my full rhythm yet.”

Fakhar was all class and power at the top of the order. His innings was laced with six boundaries and five sixes and he never let Karachi settle. The conditions weren’t the easiest to bat on but Fakhar made it look like a walk in the park.

By the time he walked off, he had already set up the match and Lahore Qalandars finished with a thumping 65-run win. It was his second Player of the Match award in a row, but the left-hander still isn’t popping the champagne yet.

Back From Injury And Back In Business

Fakhar also opened up about his return from injury and how adapting to conditions was key. He said:

“As an opener, when someone contributes at the top, it gives the team a better chance of winning. We thought 170 would be a good total, but full credit to our bowlers for restricting them.”

“The ball wasn’t coming on easily, so our plan was to build a solid partnership and keep wickets in hand for a final push,” added Fakhar.

Meanwhile, at 35, Fakhar isn’t slowing down. If anything, he is sharpening his game even more. With over 2,600 runs, 21 half-centuries, and two centuries, he is already a PSL great.

Add to that the fact that he still holds the record for most runs in a single PSL season: 588 runs in 13 matches in 2022, it’s clear the southpaw still has a lot left in the tank.
