Hasan Ali is breathing fire again and former Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir couldn’t be happier. After watching Hasan tear through Lahore Qalandars with a cracking spell of 4 for 28 in the PSL 2025 clash, Tanvir heaped praise on the Karachi Kings quick and even dropped a subtle blueprint for a potential national team comeback.
Tanvir Praised Hasan Ali And Shared Roadmap To National Team Return
Speaking on a local sports platform, Sohail Tanvir didn’t mince words.
"Hasan is performing exceptionally well in both the powerplay and death overs. He started strongly and finished his spell with the same intensity," he said, clearly impressed with Hasan’s rhythm and control.
It wasn’t just about the wickets either. For Tanvir, it was about energy, the raw, aggressive Hasan Ali 2.0 that fans hadn’t seen in a while.
"Hasan’s old aggression and control are back, which is great to see."
So, what’s the formula for a national team return? For Tanvir, it’s simple: stay fit, stay consistent and the door will open.
"The doors to the national team are never closed for any player. Pakistan cricket is for everyone and consistent performances will earn you another chance to wear the green shirt," he pointed out.
And let’s not forget, Hasan Ali isn’t just any pacer. He was the leading wicket-taker in Pakistan’s iconic Champions Trophy 2017 win where he snagged 13 scalps and played a massive role in that dream run.
"He was phenomenal in that tournament and played a key role in Pakistan’s victory," Tanvir recalled.
Tanvir Points Out Bigger Issue Pakistan Can’t Ignore
But it wasn’t all praise and smiles. Tanvir took the opportunity to call out Pakistan’s poor injury management system, especially after the Ihsanullah fiasco.
"The PCB needs a proper system to prevent and manage injuries. Players often break down due to poor workload management," he said bluntly.
On Ihsanullah:
"He underwent surgery for an injury he didn’t even have. This kind of incompetence is unacceptable and I’m sure there are many other cases like this."
Tanvir compared Pakistan’s structure to setups like India and Australia, stressing how far behind PCB is in terms of medical support and fitness programs.
"Countries like India and Australia have world-class National Cricket Academies and medical teams. We are far behind in this regard."
Meanwhile, Hasan Ali has already turned heads with his performances for Karachi Kings this season. With the right support system and consistent output, Hasan might just script one of the finest comebacks in recent years.
