On April 13, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to face Rajasthan Royals in their 28th IPL 2025 match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Before the match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar spoke to the media.
The team will be wearing their special green jersey for this game, which they do every year to support the environment and promote their status as a carbon-neutral team.
Rajat Patidar Opens Up On Captaincy
Talking about his experience as captain, Rajat Patidar said he’s not feeling any extra pressure and is simply focusing on playing to his strengths. His captaincy journey has started well, with RCB winning three out of the five matches he's led.
"I see myself as captain when I'm on the field, but when I'm batting, I don't feel the pressure of being a captain. I focus on my strengths with the bat and avoid feeling like I have to do something different just because I am leading the team. Even in domestic cricket, I try to stay in the moment and do my best for the team," Patidar told reporters.
When asked about this, Patidar said he doesn’t worry too much about where the match is being played.
“We take it one game at a time. If everyone is confident, we look to make the most of it. We'll focus on playing good cricket, not focus on which venue it is. It's a special game for us with our green initiative, and wearing the green jersey makes it even more special and exciting,” he added.
So far, RCB have done better in away matches than at home. They've beaten big teams like Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mumbai Indians on their home grounds, collecting six points. However, their two losses have come at their own home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, against Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals.
RCB currently stand fifth in the IPL points table, while Rajasthan Royals are in seventh place, with two wins and three losses from five games.
