Young Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma stole the show in a big way during his team’s clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 match on Saturday. The 24-year-old smashed a mind-blowing 141 runs in just 55 balls, helping SRH chase down a massive total with 2 overs still left.

His amazing performance didn’t go unnoticed. Yuvraj Singh, former Indian cricketer and Abhishek’s mentor, was quick to praise him after the match.
Yuvraj, who had trained Abhishek during the Covid lockdown, shared his excitement on social media platform X. He wrote:

In his fun and heartfelt post, Yuvraj appreciated Abhishek for staying calm and focused while completing his century. He also praised Travis Head and Shreyas Iyer for their contributions.
Thanks to the 171-run partnership between Abhishek (141 off 55) and Travis Head (66 off 37), SRH chased down a massive total of 245 runs, making it the second-highest successful chase in IPL history. After both openers were out, Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan finished the job, winning the match in just 18.3 overs.
Before this match, Abhishek had only scored 51 runs in total in the season and was struggling with his form. He admitted during the post-match press conference that he was under pressure to perform.
Meanwhile, with this win, SRH moved up to 8th place, securing their second victory of the season.
