The opening day of the 1st Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe was marred by rain, causing interruptions to the play at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on April 20, 2025. The match, which started with high expectations, saw an halt in the first session due to the inclement weather. With dark clouds looming overhead, the rain arrived and that forced the ground staff to cover the pitch and the entire square.

Light drizzle began to fall as the players were preparing for the second session of the day after lunch. The ground staff quickly responded by covering the pitch once again, signaling a delay in play. The rain, which initially seemed to be light, soon became persistent.

So in conclusion, it can be stated that the weather can cause hindrance and likely interrupt the much-anticipated Day 1 between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
