The much awaited IPL 2025 match between LSG and CSK is underway at the Ekana Stadium. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first. A bizzare incident occurred in the first innings as LSG batter Ayush Badoni wasn't given out on Matheesha Pathirana's ball despite it being a fair delivery.
Notably, on the 5th ball of the 13th over, Pathirana bowled a bouncer to Badoni and the right-hand batter played an upper cut that went straight into Vijay Shankar's hand at fine-leg. However, the umpires asked Badoni to wait and the decision was over-turned. Why did Badoni survive?
Why was Badoni Not Given Out?
It is worth noting that Pathirana had already bowled two bouncers in that over and the umpire were looking whether it was the third bouncer of the over or not. Meanwhile, the replays showed that the ball was indeed a bouncer, which is why the decision was overturned.
Notably, Badoni survived by just 0.1 m as his shoulder measured 1.43 m above ground, while the ball was 1.44 m high bouncer. Talking about the ongoing match, LSG are 121/4 after 17 overs.
