Mohammed Siraj set up Aiden Markram brilliantly before taking his wicket on Wednesday (December 27) during Day 2 of the first Test match between India and South Africa, taking place at SuperSport Park, Centurion. The right-arm-quick kept on playing with the South African’s mind before outfoxing him with a jaffa.
Coming to bowl the 4th over of South Africa’s innings, Siraj kept on bowling outswinger after outswinger, leaving Markram bamboozled one after another. Then the Indian quick bowled a good length delivery, which jagged away sharply off the seam. Markram tried to protect the stumps, only to find a thick outside edge.
Rahul, who just wore the big gloves after a spectacular hundred, made no mistake behind the stumps. Siraj did not even look at the umpire while celebrating, as Markram fell after a scratchy 17-ball 5.

Riding on Rahul’s scintillating century, India finished on 245 in the first innings. After that, Siraj drew first blood, and South Africa, as of now, are batting on 21/1 after 6.4 overs.
For South Africa, Tony de Zorzi and Dean Elgar are in the middle, batting on 5* and 9* respectively. Alongside Siraj, the one who took the responsibility of bowling with the new ball was Jasprit Bumrah, who conceded 11 off his first four overs.
