Babar Azam's wonderful rise into prominence in the world cricket ladder as Pakistan's modern-day stalwart with the bat has, however, paved the way to unwanted and perhaps unjust comparisons with Indian batting legend and global cricketing star Virat Kohli

Not a day goes on social media without the two cricketers' fans needlessly going after each other and creating an atmosphere of an intense tussle in comparing the two fantastic cricketers and formidable batters for their respective nations.

This whole Kohli vs Babar debate is fuelled also by the prominent voices and experts of world cricket, who notoriously tend to roll on both sides of the fence depending on who just scored big at the international stage.

The matter is such that now even social media influencers have started taking advantage of it to create abuzz about themselves. In one such instance, famous America-based YouTuber IShowSpeed turned social media into a frenzy when he took a sly dig at Babar by praising Kohli.

When IShowSpeed Entered Babar vs Kohli Debate

In a funny incident, IShowSpeed rated Kohli as the "GOAT" of the game - which translates to greatest of all time - on a post specifically featuring Babar.

It took Pakistani fans time to grasp what the American YouTuber meant but once they learnt that the popular figure had praised Kohli on a post made by Babar, his words followed another feisty day on social media.

Entering the comments section of an Instagram post made by Babar, IShowSpeed wrote, "Virat obolo tos the GOAT," which translates to Virat Kohli is the greatest of all time, something that ruffled the Pakistani fans badly and they trolled the YouTuber hard.

At a personal level, though, Kohli and Babar have always carried warmth and respect for each other. While Kohli has been a longstanding supporter of Babar and interacted with him on multiple occasions, the latter hasn't also shied away from upholding the Indian legend as one of his big inspirations on the cricket field.
