[Watch] Babar Azam Departs After Slow & Frustrating Knock Of 74 vs AFG

Babar Azam is considered as one of the best batters of this generation and has played plenty of match-winning knocks across formats over the years. However, his strike-rate has been a matter of hot debate for sometime now and this knock of 74 off 92 balls against Afghanistan will once again raise some eyebrows. The pitch though is slow and not easy for strokeplaying at Chennai but Pakistan needed Babar to convert his fifty into a century, which he has again failed to do.

Babar Azam actually started his knock with a boundary off the very first ball but failed to get things moving after that. He scored his fifty off 69 balls and could not find boundaries as Afghan spinners choked Pakistan batters. Pakistan also lost wickets at the other end which did not allow Babar to score freely but he would still be disappointed with the way he went about his business.

In the 42nd over Babar Azam did a big six against Noor Ahmad but the left-arm spinner got his revenge on the fifth delivery, as he got the better of Pakistan captain on a shortish delivery. It was short and outside off, and there for Babar to hit but he ended up slapping it straight to Mohammad Nabi at covers, who took a sharp catch to send shockwaves across Pakistan.
