Kolkata Knight Riders' premier spinner Varun Chakravarthy weaved his magic for India as he rattled Bangladesh's batting order with a superb spell in the ongoing first T20I in Gwalior. After dismissing Towhid Hridoy for twelve runs, Chakravarthy got rid of explosive batter Jaker Ali, castling him for eight runs.

Jaker Ali vs Varun Chakravarthy: Here's What Happened

The incident occurred during the tenth over of Bangladesh's innings when Jaker Ali was trying to steady the ship alongside skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. As the swashbuckling right-handed batter took on the debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy, hitting him for a massive six, India captain Suryakumar Yadav instantly brought his trump card Chakravarthy into the attack.

His decision proved a tactical masterstroke, as the wily spinner bamboozled Jaker with a beautiful delivery. His outstanding delivery comprehensively beat the batter, breaching through his defence and uprooting his off stump.

How Did Chakravarthy Get The Better Of Jaker Ali?

This was Varun Chakravarthy's first delivery to Jaker Ali in this match. Considering the batter had recently arrived at the crease, the wily spinner didn't waste time to use his most lethal weapon, the googly, against the right-handed batter.

The googly is one of Chakravarthy's many variations, and it turns into the right-handed batters after pitching. From over the wicket, the right-arm spinner bowled a well-disguised googly that turned sharply into Jaker after pitching around the off stump.

As the batter played down the wrong line, the ball sneaked through the gap between his bat and pad, dismissing him in this process.
