In the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali match between Mumbai and Services, Suryakumar Yadav, the star of the Mumbai Indians, delivered an impressive performance, scoring 70 runs off 46 balls. His remarkable innings, along with contributions from other batters, helped Mumbai set a challenging total that the Services team may find difficult to chase down.

The match is currently taking place at the time of writing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where Mumbai have amassed a substantial score of 192 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs.

After winning the toss, Services opted to bowl first. Prithvi Shaw, who went unsold in the recent mega auction, struggled to find his form and was dismissed for a duck after facing three deliveries from Subhash Poonia. Mumbai's captain, Shreyas Iyer, made a brief contribution with 20 runs off 14 balls, while new KKR recruit Ajinkya Rahane added 22 runs to the total.

SKY Powers Mumbai to a Challenging Total

With Iyer and Rahane departing and Mumbai at a precarious 60 for 3, Suryakumar Yadav, a much-loved star of MI, stepped up to stabilize the innings. He formed a massive partnership with Shivam Dube, effectively taking on the Services bowlers to anchor the innings.

Therefore, it goes without saying that Yadav's current form stands as a testament to Mumbai's decision to retain him for a hefty 16.35 crores. Hopefully, the 34-year-old will be able to continue this form after heading to IPL 2025.

Services Bowlers Struggle Against SKY and Dube

As the innings neared its end, the Services bowlers struggled to limit Mumbai to a chaseable total. Subhash Poonia, Vishal Gaur, Vikas Yadav, and Amit Shukla each took one wicket, but Mumbai batters, especially Shivam Dube, who scored an explosive 71 runs off 37 balls, dominated the bowling attack.
