Gautam Gambhir flew to India for personal reasons during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the Indian coach was expected to return before the Adelaide Test on December 6.

Gambhir departed for India on November 26 after the Men in Blue triumphed in the Perth Test. On December 3, Gautam Gambhir arrived in Adelaide, where he was received at a stay that probably also hosts the Indian team.

Gautam Gambhir Rejoins India Squad

After India's warm-up match against Prime Minister's XI at Canberra, which was mainly mentored by Ryan ten Doeschate and Abhishek Nayar, Gambhir joins back at Adelaide.

Gambhir was received at a luxurious property as cameras captured him stepping out of his car with his luggage, rocking a black sweatshirt with a pair of blue denim jeans and sneakers. The cameras were rolling as he made his way into the hotel reception.

Gambhir To Decide Playing XI For Adelaide

As Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill make their much-anticipated returns in the PM's XI game, India's batting lineup is starting to shine with a mix of experienced veterans and exciting young talent.

Recently, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul have really stepped up in Perth, proving themselves as a dynamic opening pair. Their solid performances have made a strong case for them to keep their spots, but with Gill back in the mix, things are getting interesting. His return could mean a shake-up, potentially nudging Devdutt Padikkal out of the number three position.

Now, Rohit decided to take a different route during a recent warm-up game by batting at number five. This strategic move has added another layer to the ongoing selection puzzle. With heavyweights like Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant anchoring the middle order, Gambhir has to make some tough decisions ahead of the pink-ball test.
