In a dominant clash, Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 wickets to win the 33rd match of IPL 2025. Hyderabad failed to post a par total due to middle order collapse and settled for 162 runs. In the chase, everybody from the top and middle order contributed equally to win the game for Mumbai Indians.

Here’s how MI vs SRH panned out in Mumbai:

Will Jacks Spoils SRH’s Party With 2 Big Blows

SRH were asked to bat first and Abhishek Sharma got off to a good start with Travis Head, knitting up a 59-run partnership for the opening wicket. However, Hardik Pandya got a breakthrough to dismiss Abhishek on 40 off 28. Will Jacks also supported him in dismissing Ishan Kishan on just 2 runs.

Travis Head, meanwhile, got a lifeline after Pandya bowled a no-ball when he holed out to Jacks in the 10th over. However, Head’s euphoria didn’t last long as Will Jacks struck at the right time to send the batter packing on 28 off 29 balls. SRH dug a deep hole for themselves with a slower scoring rate.

Klaasen, Aniket Help Hyderabad Post A Decent Total

Heinrich Klaasen took responsibility in the middle order as he slammed 37 off 28 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. In a late blow, Aniket Verma and Pat Cummins attacked Hardik Pandya. The duo hit the MI captain for 22 runs in the final over of the first inning and SRH’s surged to 162 runs. Meanwhile, for MI, Deepak Chahar had an off day, conceding 47 runs in 4 overs. Hardik also leaked 42 runs but picked up a big wicket of Abhishek.

Rohit Sharma Throws Away A Good Start

As MI stepped out to chase in the second inning, opener Rohit Sharma had a positive start, scoring 31 off 23 balls. However, in the 4th over, Pat Cummins bowled a full toss outside off and Rohit leaned into a crisp drive that had both timing and power, but unfortunately for him, the shot went straight to Travis Head at cover. It was a sitter, and Head didn’t have to move an inch to latch a perfect catch.

Rickelton also went back on 26 off 16 balls, leaving MI 2 wickets down with 69 runs on the board. However, Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav knitted a 40-run partnership for the third wicket to get the required run rate under control for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Torment SRH At Wankhede

Surya, batting on 26 off 15, fell prey to Pat Cummins’ slower ball, holing out to Zeeshan Ansari at mid-off. However, his brisk partnership with Jacks got MI in a comfortable position. The chase was merely a formality and Hardik Pandya paced things up with a quickfire 21 off just 9 balls. MI chased down the total in 18.1 overs to seal a comfortable 4-wicket win.
