Mayank Yadav - (Source : @ AP)
On Saturday, April 19, Lucknow Super Giants locked horns agains Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. LSG won the toss and opted to bat first. The fans were excited, as for the first time in IPL 2025, Mayank Yadav was named in the impact subs for the Rishabh Pant-led side.
Notably, Mayank Yadav, who was retained for 11 crores ahead of IPL 2025, missed first half of the tournament because of a back injury. However, the fans have to wait a bit more as Yadav won't feature against Rajasthan Royals.
Why Will Mayank Yadav Not Play Against Rajasthan Royals?
It is worth noting that LSG, batting first, got off to a poor start as the Lucknow-based franchise lost three wickets early .However, in a bizarre move, Ayush Badoni walked to bat as an impact sub, replacing Mitchell Marsh in the team. Thus, Mayank now cannot play the match and will have to wait till LSG's next match which is against Delhi Capitals on April 22.
Talking about the ongoing match, at the time of writing this article, LSG are 63/3 after 9 overs. The fans have criticised the decision as bringing an impact sub in the first innings and that too just after the fall of third wicket, makes little sense.
