The first Test between India and New Zealand has been again interrupted by rain on Day 4 of the first Test match. India still trail by 12 runs but are going strong with Sarfaraz Khan batting on 125 and Pant on 53 and they would be hoping that rain fades away soon and we get a resumption.

The drainage system at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is brilliant and as soon as the rain stops, we can expect the ground to be match-ready in quick time. However, there are chances of showers throughout the day, but the probability is around 60 percent and with match moving in an interesting direction, cricket fans would be itching to see players back on the field as the match officials have decided to take early Lunch.

Sarfaraz-Pant Counter Attack In Morning Session Of Day 4

India started Day 4 at 231-3 with a trail of 125 runs, but they have cleaned up the deficit very quickly in the morning with both Sarfaraz and Rishabh Pant batting aggressively. The pitch is looking great to bat on, and India would be hoping to get more quick runs and get their lead around 300 before giving New Zealand another chance to bat.

Safaraz is batting on 125 and Pant on 53, and with the likes of KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin to follow, India look set for a big second innings total. New Zealand, on the other hand, would be itching to break the partnership and clean up India as quickly as possible as rain is taking away some crucial time from the game. The Kiwis still have a great opportunity to win their first Test in India since 1988 after a splendid performance in the first innings where they knocked over India for just 46 and then took the lead of 356 with a good batting display in their first innings.

Overall, the match is quite nicely poised for a thrilling finish, and if the rain god decides to stay away, this game could turn out to be a memorable one.
