Sarfaraz Khan is growing in stature in world cricket with each passing game. He started off his Test career against England with a lovely fifty and now in his second series, he has stamped his authority with a century in the second innings against New Zealand at Bengaluru. He built a good stand with Virat Kohli first and is now doing the same with Rishabh Pant. However, the partnership could have ended abruptly in the 56th over as the two batters were involved in a huge mix-up while running between the wickets.

The mix-up happened on the first delivery of the 56th over. Henry was the bowler and it was a length delivery around off. Sarfaraz Khan guided it towards deep backward point and the batter ran one quickly. There was an initial call of two, but Sarfaraz called no as he saw the throw coming in quickly from deep. Pant though was just looking at the fielder and did not hear his partner's call initially. He realised his mistake when he was almost halfway down the turf as Sarfaraz Khan desperately jumped and came up with an animated cry to stop Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant Survives; India Fighting Back

Luckily for India and Rishabh Pant, the southpaw got back to his crease safely as the throw was not accurate and India got a big reprieve. Sarfaraz then made sure that Pant understands his mistake and told him to look at him and hear his call before taking a risky run.

It all ended well and the duo are developing a brilliant counter-attacking partnership with India looking set to clean up the deficit and challenge New Zealand in these last two days of the Test match.
