The IPL 2025 is on the brink of a major transformation, with a mega auction set to redefine team dynamics. This event will see many players finding new teams that align with their strengths, paving the way for fresh strategies and approaches in the future.

Chennai Super Kings have been the most successful team in the history of the grand league. They have always stressed on keeping their core solid. The five-time IPL champions will be looking to stick to their strategy ahead of the next season.

However, if recent rumours and reports are to be believed, CSK is thinking of four retentions. The four players they will retain ahead of the mega auction are reportedly Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and MS Dhoni.

This means that Rachin Ravindra, a rising Kiwi star who played for the team in IPL 2024, will not be retained. If this turns out to be true and the management does not repurchase him during the mega auction, it could be one of their biggest blunders.

Here are three reasons why CSK should not let go of Rachin Ravindra -

3. Fitting the CSK game style

Chennai Super Kings have always preferred players who can show composure under pressure and adjust their game per the situation's demands. In the Bengaluru Test, Ravindra has demonstrated that he is not easily unfazed by pressure and can carry the team independently if needed. So far in his short career, Rachin Ravindra has already laid instances where he has bailed his team out of pressure single-handedly.

2. Utility of Rachin Ravindra

Over the years, one of the key signatures of the CSK squad has been the presence of a plethora of utility players. Besides his ability to bat under pressure, Rachin Ravindra can bowl some effective overs for his team if needed. Also, Ravindra can be flexible in the batting order within the top five. Thus, his presence will allow the team more flexibility and dynamism.

1. Rachin Ravindra's game against spin

Rachin Ravindra has shown that he is a good spin player of spin bowling. During the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, Ravindra enjoyed the conditions when many other overseas batters struggled. CSK will play half of their games at their home ground, Chepauk. The pitch at MA Chidambaram Stadium often assists the spinners more; hence, good batters against spin are essential. The technique and efficiency that Ravindra has shown against spinners make a case for him to be a part of CSK.
