India's latest fast bowling sensation Mayank Yadav etched his name in history books, achieving a rare bowling feat during his fiery spell in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. Mayank, who made his T20I debut in this game, started his spell with a maiden over.

Thus, the speedster became only the third Indian bowler to kickstart his T20I career with a maiden over. Ajit Agarkar, the current head of the BCCI selection committee, is the first-ever Indian to attain the landmark. The former bowling all-rounder unlocked the feat during India's maiden T20I appearance against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Ace left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh replicated Agarkar's feat 16 years later as he started his T20I career with a maiden over against England in Southampton. Mayank Yadav joined the bowling duo on the elite list following his first over in the Gwalior T20I.

Mayank Yadav's Bowling Exploits On T20I Debut

Although Harshit Rana was expected to partner Arshdeep Singh, the Indian think tank surprised everyone by handing Mayank Yadav his maiden T20I cap. The right-arm pacer lived up to the hype, troubling the Bangladesh batters with sheer pace and accuracy.

After starting the day with a maiden over, Mayank Yadav made the visitors uncomfortable with his thunderbolts. His persistent effort eventually paid off, as he got rid of the experienced Mahmudullah Riyad in the eighth over.

Although Mayank couldn't add another wicket to his tally, he finished his spell with impressive figures of one for 21 in his four overs. His clinical bowling kept Bangladesh under the pump, and the other Indian bowlers capitalised on it, rattling the visitors with regular strikes. As a result, the Tigers were bowled out for a paltry 127-run total despite Mehidy Hasan's valiant cameo.
