In a huge scare for Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, their skipper injured his left leg while bowling against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium. The incident happened during the eighth over of the innings, and only got better after he got treatment from the physios.
Hardik Pandya Hurts His Left Ankle vs SRH
The injury brought back memories of Hardik's injury during the 2023 World Cup when he hurt his ankle and was ruled out of the entire tournament. In this game though, Hardik got the strapping on his left ankle, and started bowling immediately. Much to the delight of MI fans, he got the wicket on the very next ball, removing centurion of last match, Abhishek Sharma for 40.
The injury scare to Hardik would be a cause of worry for MI fans though, and they would be hoping that he does not aggravate the injury further by pushing himself. Hardik Pandya has been one of the shining lights for MI this season by picking wickets at regular intervals, and delivering handy cameos with the bat.
Hardik Pandya would be hoping that his team gives him better company in the game against SRH. Both the teams have only two wins out of their six matches, and a loss in this game for either team could put them in a difficult position in the race for the playoffs.
