Defending champions Australia walloped Pakistan in Dubai on October 11 to record their third successive Group A win of the ongoing 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Here’s the timeline of how AUS-W Vs PAK-W panned out in Dubai:

AUS-W Vs PAK-W Highlights: Megan Schutt, Spinners Decimate PAK Top-Order

Winning the toss and opting to field first, Australian spinner Sophie Molineux delivered the early breakthrough for her team by getting rid of Pakistan’s makeshift captain Muneeba Ali. New ball pacer Megan Schutt accounted for Pakistan’s number three Sadaf Shamas the following over as the ‘Women in Green’ managed to accrue just 23-2 by the end of the opening powerplay.

Annabel Sutherland made instant impact with the ball in the seventh over of the innings by trapping well-set opener Sidra Amin for 12.

Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham snared two wickets in two overs, including that of in-form Nida Dar as Pakistan ended up losing half its side for just 40 at the halfway stage of the innings.

AUS-W Vs PAK-W Highlights: Gardner Prevents Late PAK Flourish With Four-Fer

Seasoned Australian spinner Ashleigh Gardner further piled on Pakistan’s misery by claiming four quick wickets at the death. Gardner picked up three of those in the space of just five deliveries in the penultimate over to claim astonishing figures of 4-21.

Fast bowler Annabel Sutherland bagged her second wicket of the evening in the form of Pakistan’s top-scorer Aliya Riaz (26) to envelop the ‘Women in Green’ for just 82 in 19.5 overs.

AUS-W Vs PAK-W Highlights: Beth Mooney Electrifies Australian Chase With Swift 15

Australian opener Beth Mooney carved three quick boundaries during her swift 15-run knock at the top. Her dismissal, orchestrated by Sadia Iqbal in the fifth over brought an end to her belligerent 36-run opening partnership with captain Alyssa Healy.

Captain Healy herself belted an unbeaten 37 from just 23 balls before retiring out of the field at the brink of the finishing line.

AUS-W Vs PAK-W Highlights: Ellyse Perry Anchors Australia To A Huge Win

Ashleigh Gardner at number four also smacked a boundary after Alyssa Healy’s injury exit as Australia romped to an easy nine-wicket win in 11 overs.
