Rishabh Pant silenced critics with a captain’s knock of 63 runs off 49 deliveries, anchoring Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to 166/7 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their IPL 2025 clash at the Ekana Stadium on Sunday. 

Despite LSG falling short of victory, Pant’s innings marked a crucial return to form after a string of low scores which cheered up Pant fans and his acquaintances as well!

While Pant battled on the field, his girlfriend Isha Negi offered heartfelt support off it. She shared two Instagram Stories celebrating his fifty. The first featured a photo of Pant’s jersey placed against a highway backdrop, accompanied by a heart emoji.

The second captured the scoreboard as Rishabh Pant reached his half-century, alongside a snapshot of his celebratory roar.

The gesture resonated with fans, highlighting the personal stakes for Pant, who has battled inconsistent form and scrutiny since returning from a career-threatening injury last year.

LSG Falls Short Despite Pant's Knock

Walking in at 23/2 during the powerplay, the left-hander absorbed early pressure and steadied the innings. He forged a brief partnership with Mitchell Marsh before accelerating in the death overs, smashing 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. His gritty effort ended in the penultimate over when Matheesha Pathirana cleaned him up.

Pant’s knock came as a relief for LSG fans, as the star wicketkeeper-batter had managed just one score above 20 in six matches this season. His struggles—including five consecutive sub-30 scores—had raised questions about his form, especially after LSG splurged INR 27 crore to retain him.

Nevertheless, While Pant’s 63 injected stability, LSG’s middle order faltered on a slow Ekana track. CSK’s bowlers, led by Pathirana (2/28) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/23), kept the hosts in check. Despite the loss, Pant’s resurgence offers hope for LSG as they aim to climb the IPL 2025 points table.
