In a significant development, Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025. He was in remarkable form that helped India clinch the ICC Champions Trophy title.

The middle-order stalwart edged past New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra to claim the prestigious accolade on Monday.

Shreyas Iyer's Stellar Form In Champions Trophy

Shreyas Iyer’s consistent brilliance with the bat was a defining factor in India’s victorious Champions Trophy campaign.

In the month of March alone, he made 172 runs with an average of 57.33 with a strike rate of 77.47. His composed performances under pressure, especially during the middle overs, proved crucial in India’s route to the title in Dubai and Pakistan.

After winning the award, Iyer expressed himself and stated:

"I'm truly honoured to be named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month where we lifted the ICC Champions Trophy -- a moment I will cherish forever. Being able to contribute to India's success on such a big stage is something every cricketer dreams of. I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches, and support staff for their unwavering support and belief," Shreyas Iyer said as per ICC.

The 30-year-old was the second-highest run-scorer in the Champions Trophy 2025, falling just 20 runs short of Rachin Ravindra. However, his contributions carried more weight in terms of match-defining impact as he stabilised innings and formed key partnerships that powered India to victory.
