Kaun Banega Crorepati features a tricky Virat Kohli question worth ₹12.5 lakh

India's very popular reality television show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), is no stranger to cricket questions. The quiz show, which hosts a plethora of questions and dishes them out to contestants.

The show, which simply sees participants win money if they get the answers to the questions right, has already featured many cricket-related questions since its inception. Currently, the show is in its 17th edition and has featured a Virat Kohli question.

₹12.5 lakh question of Virat Kohli!!

While Virat Kohli has been out of action since his Test retirement and after IPL 2025 in June, KBC has managed to bring him back into the mainstream with a very popular question worth Rs. 12,50,000 for a contestant in an episode of KBC 17. 

The host, Amitabh Bachchan, who is also a cricket enthusiast himself, had a very interesting question for the contestant. The question was, “Which of these cricketers has scored more than 10,000 runs in ODIs but not in Test cricket?” The options included Joe Root, Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. 

The correct answer to this question was Virat Kohli, as he has scored 10,000 runs in ODIs, while the other three have reached the 10,000-run mark in Tests, except Kohli.

Virat Kohli gears up for national comeback

The ODI and Test question rings some bells for Virat Kohli fans since the RCB legend is set to return to action for the Australia series starting on October 19. He has been named in the Indian ODI squad along with Rohit Sharma, with the team now being led by young captain Shubman Gill. 

Nevertheless, Virat Kohli will be eager to grab the opportunity for a massive comeback in the ODI format, as he has been out of cricket action for about four months. With Kohli and Rohit expected to be in the playing XI, Indian fans will certainly be delighted to see their idols back in the national jersey once again, which could possibly be the last time the duo plays on Australian soil.
