Rishabh Pant stepped up his training regime for India’s upcoming series against New Zealand, as evidenced by his recent social media post. The dashing wicketkeeper-batter was spotted taking to nets for an intense training session in Bengaluru just a couple of days prior to India’s series opener.

Pant also brought his signature humour to the field, at a time when he greeted young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. While speaking with Jaiswal, Pant jokingly offered a nearby chair, only to refuse his own gesture by claiming it for himself.

Rishabh Pant gears up for New Zealand Tests

Rishabh Pant caught up with Test teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal in Bengaluru before India’s home series against New Zealand. The two cricketers shared a playful hug, before Pant offered a nearby chair to the young Indian opener.

However, the wicketkeeper-batter jokingly added:

“Yeh toh nahi dunga.” (I won’t give it to you)

Mere moments after Rishabh Pant’s playful banter with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter took to nets and clobbered the ball around as he worked on his wide range of strokes.

Rishabh Pant's Phenomenal Return To Indian Team

The 27-year-old recently made his return to India’s Test setup after a gap of more than one-and-a-half years. Back in December 2022, the cricketer was involved in a near-fatal car crash on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant subsequently remained out of action for more than a year before making his return to the field for the IPL 2024 season earlier this year.

In the Chennai Test against Bangladesh last month, Rishabh Pant celebrated his return to India’s setup with a sublime 109-run knock. His innings set up India’s emphatic 280-run win, as well as a series whitewash over the visitors.
