On the final day, Sri Lanka started with hopes of chasing down 143 runs to level the series. However, South Africa's bowlers significant contribution reduce Sri Lanka’s top order to rubble.
This series win brings South Africa to the top of the WTC points table with 63.33 percentage points from 10 Tests. This remarkable achievement sees them leapfrog Australia, who now sit in second place with 60.71 percentage points. India, who were previously at the summit, have dropped to third after their crushing defeat to Australia in Adelaide, with a percentage of 57.29.

South Africa’s Strong Position For WTC Final
With this victory, South Africa is now just one more win away from securing a spot in the final of the World Test Championship. Temba Bavuma's men have put themselves in an desirable position, and with the upcoming Test series against Pakistan (from December 26), they are well within reach of cementing their place in the title clash.
Australia were unable to maintain their top position after South Africa’s series win. Despite a dominant victory over India in Adelaide, Australia has dropped to second place on the WTC table.
India, on the other hand, saw their hopes of regaining the top spot dashed after their rapid collapse in Adelaide. Their position remains precarious, as they will need to bounce back in upcoming matches to remain in contention for the final.
